God's Faithfulness and Timeliness

Ashley drove me to the doctors office a while back and we sat in the waiting room for almost 3 hours :) But the Lord had a plan in all of this.

While we were there, there was this young girl there who was sitting between what we think was her mom and her grandma...we have no idea. Another lady across from her asked her if she was prego and she said yes. This lady asked, "you are young, you must be 20 or so." Well, she did not stop there, she kept insisting on this girl telling her how old she was when obviously nobody wanted to say how old she was. The pregnant girl finally said she was 16 and this lady just went off on her. "What are you doing so young getting pregnant...are you going to keep this baby...do you think God cares about your body...it's your body and you choose to do whatever you want." I know, in the waiting room, it was crazy!

Ashley and I looked at each other and we knew that we needed to pray. My face felt so hot as this lady kept telling this girl how she had messed up her life. We were both praying and we really felt like it was a spiritual warfare and just plain satanic. It was horrible.

We finally looked at her and I asked her, "how far along is your baby?" She looked at us and said 12 1/2 weeks and she showed us her ultrasound pictures proudly. We made it all the way to where she was and knelt by her to admired her little baby in the ultrasound picture she had. I then told her that I was 12 weeks along. I told her that the doctor had done an ultrasound the week before and that the baby was moving lots and was well formed. Ashley told her how proud she was of her for keeping her baby and the girl seemed so relieved. I told her that I have had an abortion in the past and explained to her what all that entails and how huge of a decision that is and how much it affects a woman. She told us confidently that she was not going to have an abortion. We just encouraged her and told her how much God loved her and her baby and how she was doing the right thing.

She was then called for her appointment. Ashley and I went back to our seats and I said to her, "maybe this is the only reason why we are here!" :) God is faithful!

Ashely was the administrator of the Pregnancy Center that I used to volunteer at this girl was just sent from there. The doctor who was seeing her is the doctor that has been very supportive of that organization and will do ultrasounds for free for girls who are not sure whether they will keep their babies or not. It was truly a divine appointment. The Lord knew that we needed to be there to encourage that sweet girl. About 80% of girls who see their baby through an ultrasound machine will decide to keep their babies. It is huge! I have counseled girls who were just plain sure that they wanted to have an AB and after seeing their baby they changed their minds :)

If the Lord has placed in your heart a desire to support a pregnancy center in your area, do so! You will not only be saving babies lives, but they also get the opportunity to hear about Jesus and it is an amazing ministry. I no longer volunteer at a pregnancy center, but we give monthly support and we also are a part of their annual fund raiser and we invite other leaders from our church or friends to a nice dinner for them to hear and hopefully support this ministry in the future. It is a blessing to be a part of this ministry and it is so needed!
