My Beautiful Sister

The Lord has blessed me with a beautiful, loving, giving and caring sister. She is a pillar in my life. She has always wanted the best for me! I know this for a fact.

She is a warrior too. She is a picture of endurance and patience. I admire my sister and love her to death. I wish she knew how much I loved her. I think sometimes I might not convey that to her and so I want to take this opportunity to tell her how much she means to me, how honored I am to be her sister and to tell her that I admire her so much.

Here are some things I love about you, Gringa:

1. You have courage, endurance and much patience in life.
2. You do not give up easily!!!
3. You are hard-working! At home you work so hard to keep it in order, to get everything done for the boys. You are amazing! You cook for 6 people everyday AND you even feed Nelson's friends :)
4. You love your family! Not only your immediate family, but all of our extended family...you keep in touch with them....you remember their b-days and call them!
5. God has blessed you with a giving heart! You love to give to others!
6. You are a servant, which is what Jesus is like ! It is one of the best characteristics that anyone can possess!
7. You are thoughtful in your own way
8. You are smart! Very smart and I am so proud of you for all that you have achieved so far. I know that God has tons in stored for you and your family
9. God has given you a compassionate heart and it is beautiful to see it expressed through you
10. I love the way you love your children and Jeremy and the many ways that you have sacrificed for them and given up what is precious to you.

I love you my dear sister and I admire you. I am grateful for you! I love you more than you think.

It was great seeing you this past weekend, and I especially loved going out for coffee and dessert with you and Lissy! Let's do that every time we see each other...it will be my treat for the two of you plus it will build great memories between each other!

I love you ALWAYS!

Oh my gosh...

A while back when Rebekah was younger and getting up more often in the middle of the night I woke up one evening because I heard her crying. I got up and started going to her bedroom. Between our bedroom and hers is a long hall that I can look straight into her room.

I was half asleep and as I reached the door I saw this muscular silhouette standing in the middle of Rebekah's door and as soon as I saw this, I flipped out!

I looked straight at the silhouette and yelled, "OH MY GOSH" and threw myself back into bed :) I was trembling in fear thinking that a man might be in Rebekah's room or "could it be a ghost??" All of a sudden I heard, LIDIA, and did not respond. My heart was loudly beating in my ears and I was probably pale from fright at this point.

After that, the manly voice kept saying, LIDIA and it was coming closer! Then I realized it was Matt! I guess Rebekah had been crying way before I heard her so he had awaken and gone to get her for me.

Although I wasn't laughing then, we now look back and laugh at this. It is one of those memorable moments that we will talk about for years to come.

Do we have to share the gospel every time we meet!

I had been thinking about this lately regarding our Good News Club and I think God is showing me the importance of sharing His Truth to these children.

Our club started out with six children and then it grew to seven. We had shared about Christ in all of our meetings from the beginning...faithfully every time we met. One of the reasons we did this was because the material that we use encourages us to do so and also because we were not sure who of the children had a relationship with Jesus Christ.

As of now we have had three girls who faithfully come to our study and we have had some great times with them. Times in which they gave their lives to Christ! So very exciting:) Starting this week, we will have (hopefully and prayerfully) the other kids back.

These are some assurances from the Lord about sharing Christ with the kids each time we meet:
1. We never know when we will have a visitor so it's best to have it all planned and in the schedule
2. The children sometimes are distracted or have a hard time understanding the concept of salvation
3. Our neighbors next door might be moving...so we could be the only people that might share Christ with them for a while
4. We never know what tomorrow brings! Life is short and we need to share Christ's love and salvation with others. It is not easy nor comfortable, but we can lead someone to saving grace and see them in heaven! What a wonderful thing!

Lord, give us the courage to share your Truth and help us to faithfully share from your Word about what You have done for us!

Bye-bye

Rebekah is learning a lot these days :) She is our little clown and she is such a joy! We are blessed with her.

We have been teaching her to wave with her hand good-bye but with no results. Yesterday after she woke up from her nap, she started waving with her hand all by herself! It was precious! She kept waving all day and today she continues to watch her hand wave :) I love it!

She is also doing cow and monkey sounds. She just keeps learning new things! Of course we think she is pretty advanced for her age ;) What parent wouldn't think that about their child??
